The function of kidney
The kidneys are located at the dorsal side of human body. They have a broad-bean shape, with a size of two fists. The kidneys are responsible for the filtration of blood, drugs and excess water in human body. The wastes filtered by the kidneys then form urea, which is transported to the urinary bladder through the ureter and expelled from the body.
Kidneys are the filters of the body. The filtered blood is transported into the circulatory system through the renal vein. The kidneys also adjust the balance of electrolytes, acidity, calcium as well as phosphate. In addition, they also adjust the blood pressure and secrete hormones to promote the manufacture of red blood cells in bone marrow. However, when the kidneys have problems, their function will be weakened and the body will be unable to discharge the waste inside the body effectively. The accumulation of such wastes affects the normal physiological function of human adversely.
