Common nephrosis

Nephrosis is one of the common diseases in Hong Kong, ranked the seventh in terms of mortality rate. There are various causes of nephrosis, which may be inborn or acquired. Patients of different ages, including babies and the elderly may suffer from nephrosis.

Common nephrosis includes: Acute or chronic nephritis and pyelonephritis, nephrosis due to hypertension, lupus erythematous or diabetes mellitus, kidney stone, polycystic kidney, and so forth. When nephrosis worsens continuously, it may cause the deterioration of kidney function, resulting in chronic renal failure or even death.
